Biography
Carly Pistawka is currently in her fourth year in the UBC-BCIT Honours in Biotechnology program (BSc). Having experienced chronic pain since 2016, Carly has found interest in studying the uses of medical cannabis for pain, and the clinical applications of medical cannabis towards opioid reduction, especially in adolescent populations. In her free time, Carly co-founded Moon Time Sisters BC, a nonprofit project to provide menstrual products for Indigenous peoples in Northern BC communities.
